BIOGRAPHY
Òscar Dalmau (Barcelona, 1974) rose to public prominence through the popular TV quiz show El gran dictat and the satirical radio magazine La competència. Trained as a journalist, he has worked as a scriptwriter, broadcaster and presenter across both radio and television. Today, he is regarded as one of the most popular comedians on the Catalan media scene
'Although life steered me towards making a living in comedy programmes on radio and television, I’ve always felt that my true, unfulfilled calling was to be an architect.'

This is how Òscar Dalmau —well-known television presenter— explains the passion that has led him to photograph thousands of fragments of Barcelona’s architecture and applied arts from the 1950s, 60s and 70s.

This guidebook takes readers on a journey through the Catalan capital via the retro architecture Dalmau has captured with his camera. From architects such as Antoni Bonet Castellana, Josep Lluís Sert, José Antonio Coderch and Ricardo Bofill, to ceramists and sculptors like Antoni Cumella, Eudald Serra or Josep Maria Subirachs, these pages showcase buildings, sculptures, sgraffiti, ceramic murals, and the vast creative legacy —both famous and forgotten— that defined an entire era.
