L'avi Ninus

Who was the author's great-grandmother? La Ben Plantada, the literary figure of Eugeni D'Ors. And his great-aunt? Isabel Llorach, the central character in Sagarra's Vida Privada. But the family's connections to key figures in our history don't end there: the family's artist was none other than Casas; the architects, Gaudí and Puig i Cadafalch; the cousin, Pompeu Fabra; and the cello teacher, Pau Casals.

The main character of this narrative is Ninus, the author's grandfather, still a child when his mother fled home on horseback to meet her lover. Ninus, meticulous and formal, eventually epitomized the role of a prominent gentleman in Barcelona. A remarkable witness to the significant changes of the 20th century.
