Experiencing the Teshima Art Museum, designed by architect Ryue Nishizawa, turned out to be such a transcendent experience for artist MARTA ALONSO that it inspired her to capture it in a piece of jewellery. This museum is a remarkable example of architecture in harmony with its natural surroundings and, by extension, with art itself, since it houses an installation by artist Rei Naito, whose work centres around water and the patterns it can generate.
Its organic appearance, both in the building and in the water, led her to explore shapes made with punch doming metal or wooden tools, until she found the volume that best captures this space and its magical installation.
